Welcome to the world of Budabebe. A children's yoga book where cute little Budabebe's share how they do yoga. Tried and tested on children aged 2 and up, the Budabebe characters will draw all children into the fun and infectious practice of yoga.

Within the book is the "Happy Thoughts" page where the children can draw the things that make them happy in the clouds, and refer back to them when they are in Sleeping Lotus pose.

Singderella's Fairy Blog Mother!

Over the summer I was commissioned to create a character called Enchantella, she is the 'Fairy Blog Mother" for a website called Singderella, where anyone with a song to sing can take the stage, find an audience, win and appreciation.

Enchantella has her own blog, The World in a Mirror Ball, where she updates her readers with the latest goings on in the world of Music, Fashion & Celebrity. You can also win a personalised pen encrusted with 30 dazzling Swarovski crystals over this weekend by joining up to Singderella.

I had a fantastic summer 2010 illustrating a children's counting book for Dole Fruits in the US - This is what Dole say about it:

"We were tired of seeing counting books put out by cookie and candy companies especially at a time when childhood obesity is reaching epidemic proportions. So, we came out with our own Dole Counting Book, featuring healthy fruit and vegetables growing in a down-home farm setting, to help kids learn their first numbers.

Beautifully illustrated by acclaimed children's book artist Jacquie O'Neill, the board book follows a family of rabbits as they tend to pineapple, lettuce, apples, tomatoes, and other crops, presenting numbers in a rhyming, engaging narrative. Our book takes a bit of creative license, as bananas and pineapple are unlikely to grow in the same climate that nurtures mushrooms and asparagus, but we hope that by introducing young learners to the nutritious wonders of nature, we'll help prime a later appetite to learn about fruit, vegetables and nutrition. A new art and mural wallpaper company has been launched this week that aims to blur the lines between wallpaper design and art. The company, MuralsWallpaper.co.uk, aims to create exciting new possibilities and a new way of thinking when it comes to interior design. By offering unique services including art wallpaper murals and a service where you can get your own bespoke wallpaper designed and created just for you, the company aims to revolutionise the way of thinking when it comes to decorating homes and commercial premises in a unique way.

The company is looking to bring together designers and artists who can offer their skills and services to create original designs and art murals that can be sold as wallpaper permanently on the new website. A few artists are already contributing works, and the company is now looking for even more unique and interesting creative’s to contribute designs. The website could also prove a good money-earner for artists, as all profits on sales are split evenly between muralswallpaper.co.uk who manufacture the wallpaper, and the artists who design them.

MuralsWallpaper.co.uk has been developed by the team behind the art community website Artybuzz.com. Check out the new folio books I created for my children's illustrations I wanted to do something a little bit special for the SCBWI Conference in Winchester (Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators) as there were going to be a lot of commissioners in the delegation. In amongst all the other black portfolios I really wanted something that stood out. I see the AOI logo as the mark of a professional illustrator. Everyone in the industry holds the Association of Illustrators in high regard, so it was fantastic to be able to add the logo to the back cover of the portfolio book of all my children’s illustrations along side the SCBWI member logo.

SCBWI - Winchester Conference!

I'm heading to the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators Conference in Winchester this weekend! Jam packed with talks and workshops, portfolio presentations and of course, endless cups of tea. (I hope!)

The good news is I won the 'Design a Badge' competition, one of twenty that will be sold (I actually got 8 designs picked in total - yay!) so I will be seeing them pinned to everyone at the conference, which will be fun! The winning entry is above...

Cool Roughs

When I do roughs for my clients I usually try to add colour where possible to give the best idea of how I am visulising the image.

However, just lately my clients are liking these roughs sooo much they are using them as they are.

They are drawn with a Mitsubishi UNI PIN fine line pigment ink pen and coloured up in Photoshop CS3.

I'm enjoying doing these at the moment as it's a more relaxed approach to the precision of my normal weapon of choice, Adobe Illustrator.

Just before Christmas I completed a range of 8 greetings cards called Small Wonder for Soul Trader UK - they are launching this week at the Spring Fair in Birmingham, UK.
