New Folio with the AOI logo...

Check out the new folio books I created for my children's illustrations I wanted to do something a little bit special for the SCBWI Conference in Winchester (Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators) as there were going to be a lot of commissioners in the delegation. In amongst all the other black portfolios I really wanted something that stood out. I see the AOI logo as the mark of a professional illustrator. Everyone in the industry holds the Association of Illustrators in high regard, so it was fantastic to be able to add the logo to the back cover of the portfolio book of all my children’s illustrations along side the SCBWI member logo.

SCBWI - Winchester Conference!

I'm heading to the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators Conference in Winchester this weekend! Jam packed with talks and workshops, portfolio presentations and of course, endless cups of tea. (I hope!)

The good news is I won the 'Design a Badge' competition, one of twenty that will be sold (I actually got 8 designs picked in total - yay!) so I will be seeing them pinned to everyone at the conference, which will be fun! The winning entry is above...

I have my portfolio printed, picture book pitches perfected and I'm just about ready to go!

Tasty Diaries

I suspect that for most illustrators food falls quite low on your list of "to do's" while you are chasing the latest deadline. I know it does for me! Well no longer! Figure Skating Sticker Stories

Through the summer I illustrated "Figure Skating Sticker Stories" for Grosset and Dunlap, who are part of the Penguin Young Readers Group. It has 16 full colour pages and over 75 colour stickers. It will be available from the beginning of January 2010 to coincide with the Winter Olympics.
